Background 

My original training in Public Health was in the field of Environmental and Occupational Health and I am a registered sanitarian. I worked in compliance at the state and federal level in the United States before entering the academic environment in Australia.While I remain interested in these aspects of Public Health, I now work mostly in the areas of cultural consonance and the impact of language and culture issues in the experience of health and illness.

Dr. Sudarmanto Budi Nugroho obtained his PhD degree from Graduate School for International Development and Cooperation (IDEC), Hiroshima University in Japan on the Integrated Study on Urban Air Quality in Transportation System of Jakarta City. He is lead author for chapter 10 (Transport Sector) and also drafting team members of the Summary for Policy Makers (SPM) of the Working Group 3 (Mitigation) of the IPCC Assessment Report 6th. After serving as Assistant Professor for the Global Environmental Leader education program at the Graduate School for International Development and Cooperation, Hiroshima University, he started working for IGES in Hayama Headquarter, Yokohama-Japan in 2013. He specialize in low-carbon transport studies and urban air pollution studies in developing cities. His current research topics includes developing four steps co-benefit approaches in Asian Cities, decarbonisation of transport sector, disruptive technology on transport sector, environmentally sustainable transport in Asian Cities, MRV methodology of transport sector, informal transit system in developing cities, climate policies in transport sector in developing cities, Urban transport resilient and Promoting city to city cooperation between Japanese and Southeast Asian Cities.

Research Topics & Areas of Expertise

1. Low Carbon Transportation Studies in Developing countries, especially for topic/areas such as Bus Rapid Transit System,

Paratransit Services and how to integrate new public transport system (BRT) with current paratransit system to establish Sustainable Urban Mobility in Developing cities.

2. Urban Air Pollution studies in developing cities, includes Data Mining, Urban Air Pollution Modelling, Analysis of Policy/Program and Its impact on urban air pollution, Developing Air Quality Standard (Ambient and Emission, National or Local level and urban air quality management.

Siti was born in Jakarta on 28 July 1956, the daughter of Mochammad Bakar, a police officer from Jakarta, and Sri Banon from Lampung province. 

After completing SMA Negeri 8 Jakarta high school in Jakarta, she studied at Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB), earning a degree in engineering.

After graduating from college, she started work in 1981 for the Regional Development Planning Board (Bappeda) in Lampung and remained there for 17 years.In 1998, she moved back to Jakarta to work in the Home Affairs Ministry. She served as secretary general of the ministry for the 2001–2005 period. She was alleged to have received Rp 100 million in a fire truck procurement deal when she was the secretary general at the Home Affairs Ministry, but she was not pursued by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) because she said the project had involved the minister and the ministry's director general without going through her.She was appointed by president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as secretary general of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) for 2006–2013. In January 2013, Siti stepped down from the DPD and joined media tycoon Surya Paloh’s National Democrat Party. In 2014, she was elected to the House of Representatives (DPR), representing Lampung electoral district for the 2014–2019 period. She soon had to retire from the DPR after being appointed Minister of Environment and Forestry by President Joko Widodo. 

Letnan Jenderal TNI Suharyanto, S.Sos., M.M. (lahir 8 September 1967) adalah seorang perwira tinggi TNI-AD yang sejak 17 November 2021 mengemban amanat sebagai Kepala Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB).Suharyanto, merupakan lulusan Akmil tahun 1989 ini dari kecabangan Infanteri. Jabatan terakhir jenderal bintang tiga ini adalah Pangdam V Brawijaya.
